Angelus Foundation
Code of Ethics
Chiang Mai Province, Thailand
1. Respect for the Dignity and Rights of Children
Every child is a unique individual with inherent dignity and fundamental rights. All decisions and actions must always be guided by the best interests of the child.
Children must never be humiliated, threatened, intimidated, exploited, or subjected to physical or psychological harm. All interaction with children shall be respectful, calm, patient, and free from shouting, aggression, or coercion. Any form of corporal punishment is strictly prohibited.
2. Equality and Non-Discrimination
Angelus Foundation provides equal care, protection, and opportunities to all children without discrimination based on gender, race, ethnicity, religion, health condition, disability, or social background.
Every child has equal access to education, development, protection, and support.
3. Privacy, Confidentiality, and Media
All personal information relating to children — including their background, health status, personal history, and documentation — is strictly confidential.
Angelus Foundation employs a designated media staff member who is trained and authorized to document the work of the Foundation. This person operates under strict safeguarding standards and is responsible for all photography, video recording, and publication involving children.
Publication of any image or video showing a child’s face requires written consent from the child’s parent or legal guardian. This consent is archived by the Foundation.
Additional written authorization from the Director and the Social Worker is required before any such content may be published.
The child’s own consent must also be obtained verbally and directly. If a child does not wish to be photographed or filmed, this decision must be respected without exception. In such cases, the media staff member may only document the child from behind or from the side, ensuring the face is not identifiable.
No individual other than the designated media staff member is permitted to photograph or film children within the premises of Angelus Foundation.
4. Professional Boundaries and Conduct
All staff members, volunteers, and visitors are required to respect personal boundaries and the dignity of children at all times.
Any inappropriate physical contact, behavior, communication, or conduct that could be perceived as harassment, manipulation, abuse of power, or exploitation is strictly forbidden.
Professional relationships with children must always remain appropriate, transparent, and accountable.
5. Responsibility and Accountability
Every individual associated with Angelus Foundation is personally responsible for their actions and decisions.
Concerns, incidents, or suspicions of misconduct must be reported immediately through appropriate internal channels. Failure to report violations of this Code of Ethics constitutes a serious breach of responsibility.
6. Integrity and Honesty
All representatives of the Foundation shall act with honesty, integrity, and transparency. No action or behavior may undermine the credibility, reputation, mission, or values of Angelus Foundation.
Conflicts of interest must be disclosed and managed responsibly.
7. Safety, Health, and Well-Being
All applicable safety, health, and hygiene regulations must be strictly observed. Preventive measures shall be taken to minimize risks and ensure a safe environment for children, staff, and visitors.
In situations involving immediate danger to health or life, prompt and appropriate action must be taken in accordance with the Foundation’s protection and emergency protocols.
8. Prohibition of Alcohol, Drugs, and Harmful Substances
The possession, use, or distribution of alcohol, illegal drugs, or other harmful substances is strictly prohibited within all facilities, activities, and premises of Angelus Foundation.
Smoking is permitted exclusively in a designated area located within the administrative section of the premises. This area is physically separated from the daily centre and is fully inaccessible to children. Smoking in any other part of the premises is strictly prohibited.
9. Equal Applicability and Enforcement
This Code of Ethics is binding on all individuals without exception — including staff members, volunteers, visitors, contractors, management, and leadership of the Foundation.
Any violation of this Code may result in disciplinary measures, including termination of cooperation and, where applicable, legal action in accordance with Thai law.
This Code of Ethics reflects the core values, principles, and responsibilities of Angelus Foundation and serves as the foundation for ethical, transparent, and child-centered conduct in all activities of the organization.
Angelus Foundation is built on the belief that safety and freedom can exist together. Our rules are not meant to restrict life, but to create certainty — especially for children who never had the chance to choose it for themselves. We are building a community where protection is not fear, but care. A place where everyone can breathe, be themselves, and know that they matter.
